We've had some visitors hanging around outside the gates at my work place lately. Upwards of 5K, but generally well-behaved. Seems that most of them are demonstrating their lack of anything better to do, which is pretty well understandable, being socialists; but then, I don't think that the world is ready for a bunch of pro-war Germans, so what are ya gonna do?
As for highlights, so far there have been some speeches by some folks in several durn foreigner-languages (testing the waters for their upcoming political campaigns, which would, ironically, later involve negotiations for on-post employment concessions), games like the ever-popular egg-toss, burn the BDU-scarecrow, deface the flag, and the usual kids trying to look serious while enjoying a day out of school.
Notable in their absence were refreshments, porta-potties or souvenir stands. So far, no water cannons in use by the Polezei. Oh, well.
Being on night shift, I was thinking about filling a water pistol up with something unmentionable and having a little fun with the kids camped out at the back gate, but they're miserable enough in the cold already.
Maybe tomorrow night.
Anybody get stuck in anything similar in Chicago or San Francisco?
