Here's the scenario:

Your rich old Uncle Festus dies, and leaves you a fine bequest in his will

Unfortunately, the old guy had a cussed streak, and it's not negotiable
But it's a $10,000 gift certificate, good only at Collector's Firearms in Houston

And whatever you spend it on, it must be on long guns (rifle or shotgun). NO handguns -- ol' Festus always hated the damn things

Assume, for the sake of the game, that you will not be able to spend a penny more than the $10,000, and ignore sales tax (don't you wish)

Overseas Readers can assume that you get special dispensation from your poxy governments to own the damn things in your home country.

Probably should have put an Uzi in there instead of some of the others, but as I have just one gun at the moment, I wanted a plethora of different options, stayed away from anything real expensive.

(Edited to make choices clearer)

I hang around Collector's a pretty good bit. You'll usually find me digging through the used holster bin.

I have to say, Kim's 10 grand at Collector's would be worth a lot more somewhere else.

They're usually fantastically overpriced.

Good choices, though...and I was surprised at the M1A SOCOM for under $1,400.

I did some quick comparisions online, and for my picks at least, they were pretty fair prices, I did notice their 300$ sks, and their 995$ "Russian 91/30 Sniper 7.62x54R".
Definetly have some that they are proud of!

Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical model shotgun with 18.5" barrel. $999.95
Beretta 687 EL 12 gauge shotgun. $4150.00
A.H. Fox Sterlingworth 12 gauge shotgun. $1095.00
Browning Superposed Lightning 12 gauge Belgian made 2 barrel set with luggage case. Barrel 30" $2495.00
Cooper Arms Model 21 .223 Rem caliber rifle. Classic model. New. $1229.95
Kimber 84M Classic .243 Winchester caliber rifle. New. $879.95

That leaves me $235.10 for ammo.

Or:

Browning Superposed Midas 12 gauge shotgun. Midas Grade 30†barrel, Full & Modified choke. Belgian made. $7850.00
Browning Superposed 20 gauge shotgun Pigeon Grade. Belgian made with long tang and skeet chokes. $3495.00

Thats only $1,345.00 over budget, can I use some of my own money? Ooops...should have read the post better.

My head spins at the selection. Oh Uncle Festus! You could not have placed a heavier curse upon my soul. :p

Being that my ancestors are/were Chinese, I get awfully suspicious when someone named Festus says that he's my uncle!;)

Not a Super X Model 1 in the listings , Selections of 28 gauges slim , No Model 70 in '06 as well and where be all the Model 12's in 12, 20, 28 like I want...or I'd been over the limit fast ;)
