Hi all,

I was just looking at the magazine that came with my Kimber Series I Classic Royal.

Its a standard blued 7 round magazine, with a polished chrome follower. On the right side of the magazine, near the baseplate says "MADE IN ITALY". Left side has -A- markings

I bought the gun from consignment, but wanted to make sure these are the magazines that is supose to come with the gun. If not, what magazines are these?

I never really used this magazine, always used my Colt magazines since those are the best IMO. I just stashed this magazine in my drawer and randomly took it out to look at it and saw these markings.

Any info?

Thanks!

Sounds like you got ACT mags. I don't believe those are what came with that gun but they are EXCELLENT magazines.
Several company's use them and mark them as their own, NOVAK being the biggest that I'm aware of.

By all means try it out. What's the worst that could happen? If it jams then relegate it to range mags. Kimber, from what I've heard, uses Shooting Star mags as their "factory" magazine. These mags have a reputation for being rather crappy. Still, it strikes me as rather cheap of the factory to provide a single magazine of poor reputation with a $700+ gun. If I were them, I would go for the more expensive McCormick PowerMag, Wilson, or even Mec-gar magazines. Seems to me Mec-gar mags have a "made in Italy" stamp on them also.
