I'm considering the purchase of a new Kimber Gold Match Ten II or Stainless Ten II vs. the traditional 1911 Kimber's. The Ten II double stack fits nicely in my hand whereas I’ve always over gripped the traditional single stack grips.

How's the Kimber Ten II’s accepted in the market vs. the traditional 1911 Kimber’s?

Other than corrosion, what are the pros and cons to a stainless steel barrel vs. steel barrel?

Are the clips interchangeable (Glock, Para?) and commonly accessible or are they only available thorough Kimber? Any after market?

Kimber offers the Metprolight night signs, who else offers a good quality night sight?

Your comments are greatly appreciated and please feel free to add any additional insight pertaining to the Kimber Gold Match Ten II or Stainless Ten II.

Thanks ;)

I have one of the older model polymer framed Kimbers. I believe that it uses the same magazines as the Ten II though.

Unfortunatly they are expensive. Pre ban magazines run around $120, post bans from Kimber are around $40. Though I have seen pre bans occasionally for as low as $75.

Para magazines can be modified to work by dremaling the top of the mag hole. However I have never attempted this so this is second hand info.

There was a company that was going to make a different mag release for the Kimber that would allow it to take Para mags, but I have no idea what happened to them.

Kimber 14 rounder's

I have a custom 1 with the bul frame. A recent visit to the Kimber web site shows that the hi-cap mags are now 75.00. A talk with a Kimber rep a week ago does confirm this fact. They were losing market share to Para, hence the price reduction. I carrry mine on duty and off. I like it.

Thinking about going with the BUL Commander model instead of the Pro Carry Ten II.

Basically the same gun other than the name. Anyone got any intel on the BUL line?

Why spend $689 on the Kimber when I can pay $434 for a BUL model instead.

One other question. I am assuming that you can use Kimber and Para 10 or 14 round magazines in the BUL models or am I mistaken. Can any of you BUL owners confirm this? Thanks
