Do you have to have a class III to have one? ;-)
1. Are KleenBore Gun Storage Socks effective in rust protection?
2. Will they leave a filmy residue on my firearms?
3. And if I store paper documents in the safe, next to guns wrapped up in this gun sock, will it affect the documents?
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about the socks but I did use the red Kleen Bore bags when I was in North Carolina. Worked great and I never had any rust issues. I did keep a bucket of dissicant in the bottom of the safe too. The bags never caused any issues with papers or documents which I also kept in the safe.
I am in Colorado now and rust is not that big of a deal but I do keep my rifles in socks just to keep the rifle to rifle rash down. I have something called Sackups which are the same idea as the Kleen Bores. No issues with anything else in the safe.
If you want a safe and very easy way to keep your safe dry just run a 60 watt light bulb in it. If you put it on a timer and run it only about 6 to 8 hours a day it will keep your safe very dry.
