Knife id
I have one exactly like that in my safe, except it was made by western cutlery in boulder, co. During ww2 it was one of several companies contracted by the defense department, to supply standard issue knives to all branches of the military. The one i have was issued to my father in march 1944 when he joined us naval ops in the pacific campaigns. He arrived just in time to complete the battle of leyte gulf, phillipines, and then to iwo jima, & finally okinawa. He survived the war & died at age 77 in jan 2002. I also inherited my grandfather's knife by the same company & basic design, but his was procured from a retail store in 1947.
