I was just on the Knob Creek Machine gun web site. The Spring shoot has been cancelled due to flooding. I was planning to go but I guess I will have to wait for the fall shoot.

I think they were hoping to get the bridge fixed by the spring shoot, but they have not been able to complete it. Water is still high in the area. Yesterday they opened a bit for people with trucks or jeeps (water is still running across the road) but advised against cars trying to make it across. Hopefully they'll come up with a better solution before the fall shoot.

SG1: I think the flooding issues are endemic to the area. I doubt there would be a solution to this ongoing problem without massive cost to KCR.
Here is my boilerplate Knob Creek advice:
1. Plan to go in October... the April shows seem to be canceled more often than the October ones.
2. If you can only attend one day, go on Saturday so you can see the Night Shoot. It's probably the most spectacular thing i've ever seen.
3. If you aren't already camping or RVing on KCR grounds, and aren't been dropped off or picked up, get there EARLY. I always showed up around 6:30 - 6:45am and got pretty decent parking spots near the gate.
4. If you're "renting" any guns head directly to the lower range as soon as you finish eating breakfast. The rentals don't open up until 9am, but the lines start to form a lot earlier than that.
5. If you can stand it, if you're self-parked, wait around until the "exodus" finishes up. That may mean milling around until 10:30 - 11:00pm, but I'd rather just relax than become part of the organized chaos of exiting cars.
6. If you're staying in Louisville proper, stay at the Seelbach Hilton. It's a cozy, classy historic hotel, with a haunted reputation on top of everything else! :)
