I just made an order for one from Cabelas, Its for my 20" Mossberg 500 Persuader. Do any of you have one? and does it really take away 90% of the recoil?

I have one, and have shot several thousand rounds with it. 90 % ???? Well, let's not get carried away, the way an advertising guy might.

It is effective in reducing percieved recoil. It is also difficult to get a proper cheek weld on, and it doesn't line up for a lot of folks.

While the ability to shorten the stock seems like a good feature, when I did so, I got a badly bruised cheek.

I hope you enjoy yours. I am thinking seriously about removing mine and replaceing it with a wood stock with a limbsaver recoil pad.

I know from experience that I can shoot much more accurately if I can acheive a good cheek weld.

I'm always amused by these posts...
Hey I bought a ....... XYZ...... I just spent $20,705.03 - I know nothing about them, did I do OK?

:banghead:

Yeah, post hoc purchase queries are a bit silly.

Back to the OP, does the stock take away 90%? Nope. HOWEVER, I like to shoot mine without the recoil pad, stock fully collapsed, off center on my chest and it doesn't bruise my collarbone with standard loads. It certainly allows for me to shoot a couple hundred rounds in a session off my shoulder without causing discomfort.

Works well with a red dot or holo sight on top so you don't need to lower your cheek so much to line up on a bead sight.....

I finally went out and gave mine test drive.
When shouldered it didn't seem to be huge reduction in felt recoil but it does reduce it. If you really want to see 90% reduction shoot it by only holding the pistol grip, shoot it like a pistol. Even with the heaviest of loads no prob. Just for fun. The spring in the grip works better than the one in the stock.

Take it easy Kyle, your knoxx will arrive soon enough and besides others have helped you allready....

I bought one for my Mossberg 590a1. I always wanted to try out a pistol grip plus I get the adjustable stock (I like a shorter length of pull) and the recoil reduction with the Knoxx Spec Ops model. Why not give it a whirl? I lost a lot more than felt recoil. I lost the easy reach to the tang safety. I lost the ability to hit the action release without shifting my hand. And I lost a nice comfortable cheek weld. All in all it wasn't worth to me it so I sent it back.

The Knoxx stock on my Mossberg 590 was a disappointment. Yes, it did substantially reduce perceived recoil. But, I don't like its ergonomics.

You don't always have the opportunity to try things out before you buy them and you just hope it works out. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
You may find the Knoxx suits you just fine.

I shot a 500 with 00 buck and slugs with a Knoxx Breachers grip and them my other 500 with the same loads and a factory Mossberg pistol grip only.

In a word, the Knoxx is AMAZING! I could shoot it all day and hold the gun at eye height. When I shot slugs from the 500 with the factory pistol grip it was the first time I ever said ouch! It's worse then two 3" slugs at the same time out of my Stoger Coach gun, seriously.

Knoxx is good stuff. I have a Sidewinder kit and 3 more stocks on order,

The Sidewinder is no more. I have it already. I also have 3 Knoxx stocks on order, I guess I need to use a little more clarity in my postings. :)

Wow, now that is a good-looking shotgun! Check out the recoil reduction for slugs. Many people report that slugs recoil worse than buckshot. Let us know your impression.
