Krag question

Can anyone explain an easy way to remove a krag bolt?? I am going to look at a nicely sporterized one Saturday, and know these aren't the strongest actions around. I also know these guns were case-hardened, and not heat treated, and can crack at the locking lug if fed over pressure ammo. So I wanted to take the bolt out to get a good, magnified look at the lug. Also, is there anything else Krag specific that I should look at to see if this is a good specimen?

Here ya go.

Be warned, lifting the extractor can be little rough on the thumbs. It also gets a bit trickier if there is a receiver sight on the bridge (like mine).
