Yeah, you confused me. You mean you can now own full autos in kansas? like anyone?

Yes, owenership with 2 background checks and sherrif's OK.
It will take effect this summer sometime.
So far all i know is what is being said, i have no idea of any details or where to get more information.
I will hear more from our Law enforcement contacts today.
But i will check around untill i go in to work and post what i learn.

And if we could just get rid of that stupid '86 restriction on new transferables, the world would be a freer place still.

I know it's not politically expedient to say so, but all y'all were thinkin' it.

How did they manage to pass that? I've always gotten the impression that machineguns were one of those things, like monetary policy or marijuana, that no amount of sensible information will shift John and Jane Q. Public away from their gut reactions on the subject.

Good for you guys! congrats. Now you are just stuck with the problem of coming up with several grand to buy the cheapest full auto available! :barf:

OR has allowed MG's since a long time ago, but I will probly still never get one, just due to the outrageous cost. Thanks '86 new MG ban! (where's the smiley giving the bird.....)

If they are allowed any Title II, it is less than $500 (tax included) to get a suppressor for your .22, and merely a tax and an engraving to make an AR an SBR. While machine guns are fairly expensive (not to mention feeding them) there are much cheaper ways to enter the NFA game, and most of them are a lot of fun.

May want to check the federal statutes on full auto firearms. Some states don't allow full auto weapons at all even with a federal permit. Kansas is probably one of those that do now.

Sebelius signed THAT? I think there are some icicles starting to form in hell.... Too bad the 86 Reagan ban is still in place. Thanks George W., for repealing that - not! :(

Sibelius signing it is very surprising. I'm very happy about it.

Could it be that Sibelius is coming up for re-election and is trying to make people forget about how she tried to veto Kansas CCW law? :cuss:

I grew up in Kansas. You can take me back but you have to kill me first, there's not much good can be said about anything in that state.

Do miss the pheasant hunting.

Which is why in her mind she really hasn't signed much. She's likely been informed that no one will be able to buy anyway.

You guys be sure to prove her wrong :)

The signing of the bill had something to do with closeing a loophole that made it illeagle for a dealer to transfer or supply a law enforcement agency with class 3 weapons.
So its benifet was to law enforcement and not the rest of us.
I will take what i can get from this sibilius.
Full auto is nice but to costly to use, however the thought of a SBR with a can is something i do here in the shop anyway, why not for me or other people.
She is getting a thank you card for our shop.

The law actually had the backing of law enforcement, I've just found out.

The KS attorney general recently made an opinion that the MG law applied to LEO's as no dealer in the state could legally sell FA toys to them. They went in to amend the law and opened it up.

Well, I'm sure you're missed.
