I just learned this afternoon that the Kansas gov has voted SB-418, conceal carry legislation. It will now be sent back to the KS Senate where it originated for hopefully a veto override. For all of you in Kansas please contact not only your senator and representative, but as many other senators and representatives as you can. It is time to find out whom our friends really are and then remember in November.

Democrats have a mental disability that causes them to be slow learners. Only solution is to educate them at election time. ;)

Do start sending messages to the legislature and senate.

Hopefully, my neighbors to the West will come to their senses and allow ccw legislation and be part of the civilized world. Of course Sebelius will not be part of that, but that's o.k. I trust Kansans will make sure she's out of power next time in any event.

Old Fuff

Dems and reps both are so engrained in their own thinking that they cannot see both side of an issue and both oppose handguns when you look at most voting records. Some of the states with the worst laws have rep governors and senates. It would be really nice if we could get some open minded independant or 3rd party free thinkers into some real offices of power. I am still registered as a rep but I have been moving more towards independant every year.

Thats a nice sentiment, but we're talking about Kansas here .... remember that the previous governor vetoed CCW twice as well.

He was a Republican.

Perhaps... But at the moment it's the Democrats that need to be educated, and hope that the Republicans get the point. If no one in the legislature gets cold feet the votes are there to overturn the veto.

Then we can see how badly the Republicans want our votes to help kick out the Democrat.

There are actually a few Democrats in Kansas that are very pro-CCW. Candy Ruff from Leavenworth sponsored the last bill in '04, and has been a rock working for it this time. The ones that are actually killing this deal are limousine liberals parading around as Republicans, especially those in the Johnson County area.

I have a small support group (that sounds bad!) that has pushed VERY HARD, and is still working on this bill in the override stage.

From this point forward, whether this bill overrides the veto, or gets killed in the house, priority number 1 is to remove the priestess that calls hersself a governor.

Elections will be upon us very soon, and I think it's time to mount an "Anyone but Sebelius" campaign SOON!
