Here!
I'm told that FIST will fit my Sigma 40VE but I know nothing about their quality etc. I did find a JSholsters IWB Kydex for my G19 and it is perfect. It's
a secure, low ride rig that actually conceals, no bulges, and it's simple.
The 40VE is 100% reliable and also simple. Plus it has more chamber support
than my 9mm Glock, if that matters. I'd like to keep & use it but the search for Kydex is running out. I've found I like the kydex more (much) than leather.
So, how do you find the workmanship/function of the FIST line of polymer
holsters ? Thanks all.

Cheers,

John

I bought one of their ultra-thin Kydex IWB with a clip for my departed CZ100. Can't say I was impressed with it. The IWB clip was stiched to the holster with the thread exposed on the inside of the holster. Never used it b/c it would have worn the finish in no time flat. I'm not concerned with good honest finish wear, but I certainly don't want the gun unnecessarily scratched.

I suggest you look at www.blade-tech.com They make an IWB that's very nice (I have one for my Steyr M9).

I also say Blade-Tech.
I have two IWB holsters, one for a 642 and one for a Glock 26.
Forget the fold over snap straps and get the accessory J clip retainer.

Also remember to get your pants sized one larger, these holsters are thicker than leather.
This make it easier to reholster, try this with any leather besides Milt Sparks Summer Special and you will see what I mean, the gun just drops right back into the kydex stuff.

No safety strap but short of hanging upside down off a building, if the holster has been properly tensioned, it will retain the gun.

I feel kydex does have some finish wear issues with highly blued guns but have no trouble with nickle finish, tenifer finish, or stainless guns.
Leather will also scrub the blue off a gun over time so you decide if the use of kydex is worth it.

JG,

I have no experience with FIST kydex. I have seen their leather holsters and thought they were top-notch. I have owned Blade-Tech IWB for the the Beretta Brigadier I traded and now have the same holster for the 6946 I carry IWB. I have the belt loops and have never tried the J-Hook. Mine has a good deal of "clasp" when in the holster and I recommend them highly. I envision any future gun that I have to ride in a Blade-Tech holster.

FWIW, the only problem I had with my Beretta Brig holster is that I left it in the dash board storage compartment for @ 8 hours with outside temps of about 105 degrees. Long story short, the holster would clasp but not very firmly when tightened all the way. I got into "bubba-mode" to try and fix it and buggered the screws up good. When I called BT to purchase new screws I explained to them what happened. They told me that some customers have had experience with their holsters in extreme heat and as the IWB is a thinner material it did somewhat lose integrity in the shape and became loose. They replaced my holster free of charge with a new one and were completely awesome in their customer service.

I don't believe there is a pistol that Blade-Tech doesn't already catalog holsters for, or will make if requested.

Hope this helps. Both Blade-Tech IWB holsters were @ $65 shipped.

Mike

Re: Fist

I've bought 6 Kydex Ultrathin IWB holsters from FIST in the last 5 yrs. I like them, never had a problem with the holster, and I've never seen any excessive wear on the finish of the gun (which includes, Glocks, CZs, Taurus, Kahr).
