Kydex on the cheap

Hi folks
I'm looking to get away from hybrid holsters such as the Alien Gear I currently have and want something different such as a kydex holster from Vedder. As good as the vedder is I can't spend 60$ on a holster right now. Is there a kydex holster out there more in the 30 dollar range? My google muscles are about worn out.

Holsters are one of those things where you generally get what you pay for. $30 holsters are almost universally junk in my experience. You could get the kydex and make your own, although the initial investment is likely to exceed the $30 mark.

When I read "kydex on the cheap" I was ready to give you a list of stuff in the $70ish range. I can't think of any $30 kydex, even stuff I wouldn't want to own, unless you're bending it yourself. You may be able to find those BlackHawk holsters in that range, but that's about all that comes to mind.

I think it is forum moderator 9mmepiphany that recommends spending 20% of the price of your gun on a holster. I'm pretty sure your FNS 9c is a $500ish gun. You should be able to afford more for a holster. Heck, $30 is a box or two of ammo. That's less than one range trip.

Let me add - I'd have to do some work to find you more than just a few single mag pouches for $30 let alone a holster.

Dang. Well, guess I could get another Alien Gear. It was a good holster for my Beretta. Just wanted something smaller and easier to take on and off.

Kydex holsters have moved into a cottage industry with smaller makers who can do acceptable work and don't have incredibly high advertising overhead or sell only thru distribution chains. They sell direct. Lots of shooters may not like the lack of a "Brand" on the holster to brag on, or that the design might appear to be a copy of another innovative maker.

YMMV - but there ARE $30 kydex holsters out there and I might even suggest that they won't get you killed using them.

I have a Clinger Atom for AIBW.

I have one of their Stingray holsters for my G42.

I like it almost better than the Comp Tac they copied.
