As many of you know, a new gun forum, We The Armed, started about a month ago. There's a lot of names you'll recognize over there, including at least one of the founders, Larry Correia. It's another great gun forum in addition to THR, and all are welcome to come check us out.

BUT....in addition, we've started a forum for women. Women & Guns has a women's forum, of course; but sub-forums for women are not widespread. We hope to make this a useful and worthwhile meeting place for women to talk about women's issues and for men to read and to contribute to those discussions.

So: all THR ladies, come over and be a part of forming something new and exciting. For heaven's sake, don't leave here to do it; stay here AND also join us over there. We'd love to have you.

Springmom, glad to see there are more forums up around RTKBA, and I don't want to sound like a jerk, but I have a fundamental problem with a "Ladies Only" area, where any post of any guy can be deleted for any reason. If a "Guys Only" area with the same rules was created, many women, although I'm not sure about you, would say that was a mistake, that women are valuable contributors, and that we shouldn't try to exclude them. Why do people think that exclusion is ok if it is by the "minority?"

I know, I'm a scum bag for saying it, but hey, that's my opinion. Now that I've said this this thread will probably get locked as OT anyway.

Well, thankfully, the guys over there don't seem to share your opinion. A ladies' only forum has been discussed here and has been decided against; that's the admins' choice. But they do serve a valuable purpose, and it's growing slowly but steadily (and guys do post there; the point of the possible delete is to keep jackassery to a minimum.)

Gotta love the FNGs. :D

First thing I thought of was to suggest such an arbitrary-deletion rule. For some people, chest-thumping and bravado take precedence over actual progress...

From the OP:

We hope to make this a useful and worthwhile meeting place for women to talk about women's issues and for men to read and to contribute to those discussions.

Looks like an attempt to further polarize gun owners based on gender!!

So, inasmuch as it is for both genders, is it bipolarizing? :neener: OMG...it's gonna become "us versus them", but not the cops v. non-LEOs, it'll be da' gals versus da' guys!

I needed a good laugh today. springmom, great news! Anything we can do to bring more women to the shooting sports I will support! I will tell my wife and daughter.
