anyone have any load data on the lapua 6.5 creemoor 139gr???
was thinking on trying it out seeing hornady is getting hard to find. what powder is best for them load and what cas small primer or large primer?
thanks
again

I shoot the 6.5 CM but cannot help you with that bullet. The SRP will handle higher loads/pressure better than the LRP. So you will get more reloads before you have to recycle the brass. Some clame lower SD numbers due to a smaller flash hole.

Are you asking about a bullet or the brass ?

I've had GREAT luck with that bullet. In fact it it the only thing I load for my 6.5's anymore. I initially used 143gr Hornady ELD-X bullets with 41.5 gr of H4350. When I moved to the 139 gr Scenar I worked up to the same powder charge. That is pretty close to a max load with some manuals, a bit over in others, so you might want to start lower and work up.

bullet not brass. looking at using starline brass large primer. or starline small primer not sure which is better, and what powder data to use

what powder load and what powder did you start with. have tried h4350 but it doesnt like my powder measure on my ap press i have. have been using 140eld but getting a lot of off shots lately. and data online for 139gr scenar around???

When I bought my 6.5 CM I started with 143 ELD-X Hornady factory loads to get brass. Then started loading the same bullets with H4350. I did experiment briefly with IMR4451 and Ramshot Hunter for a time when my supply of H4350 was low and I was briefly unable to find any. But before I got too far along with that I was able to get more H4350 and never pursued those powders further. But initial results were promising with both powders.

After reading many reports praising the Scenar bullets as both a target bullet as well as a deadly hunting bullet I bought a box of 155's for my 308 and 139's for my 6.5 CM. I found those bullets to be the most accurate I've tried in either cartridge. In fact currently that is the only bullet I use for my 6.5. And the one I shoot most from my 308.

I'm not aware of any data specific to the 139 gr Scenar bullet. I simply used the same data available for the heavier 143 gr and 147 gr bullets and went from there. The same powder charge (41.5 gr) ended up being the sweet spot for both the 143 and 139 gr bullets for me. Looking at Hodgdons website is confusing. They show the same max load for the 143 and 147 gr (41.8) but for the lighter 140 gr bullets only 40.0 or 40.4 gr.

My load of 41.5 gr is giving me velocity, (~2700 fps) exactly where it should be and I've had no signs of excessive pressure so I'm comfortable with it in my rifles.

lot of fanfare when that bullet came out. the manufacturing process for scenar L was billed as twice as consistent (half the variation) as the previous scenar. everyone was practically wetting their pants over it, until people started shooting it and realized that the bullet had a slightly better BC than a random piece of gravel. sales went to zero except for a handful of benchresters. then midwayusa dumped a blue bazillion of them at prices cheaper than older junk hornady bullets. if you bought back then, you did well. once that lot was gone, they eventually went back to full price. for the money, there are probably 4 bullets i'd pick before i got to the 139 scenar-L but if i eventually landed there, i'd certainly expect it to shoot, just not very far lol

i have been using superformance powder with my 6.5 creedmoor for awhile now. but i'am down to using 123eld hornady, cant find any 140 grain anywhere. so was thinking of switching to the scenar. so your saying that i can get away with using the same powder loads i use on my 140gr hornady??
