I am asking this question for a friend...I don't have any cannons this large.

Where can very large diameter copper-jacketed round nose bullets be found? Is there a company that handles "the big stuff"?

More specifically, .60, .70, and 4-bore bullets are what he needs. They need to be copper jacketed with no exposed lead on the front. Round nose, or slightly pointed.

Thanks.

Your friend might try contacting Corbin Bullet Swaging and ask Dave Corbin for a list of his custom bullet makers and see if any of these guys are doing anything in those sizes.

Might we ask why he needs them?

The old big bore hunting & military black-powder rifles were designed to shoot only pure lead bullets with greased or paper patched bullets. None of the old barrel steels will stand up to jacketed bullet pressure, or wear on the deep soft rifling.

If it is for a modern gun that large, he is going to run afoul of the BATF "destructive devices" law that bans anything firing cartridges for rifles with bores over .50 caliber, (except shotguns used for sabot slug deer hunting ammo.).

If it's for black-powder cannons, they are likely unrifled, and long pointed or round-nose jacketed bullets won't work in them.

It's a real puzzlement what he needs them for!
