I did something that I know I should never do. I was was reloading really late one night and was priming some 45-70 brass, I was 16 short so I just grabbed the next box of primers took out 16 primers and finshed priming the last of the brass. I then finshed loading this brass with 405gr bullets and 27gr of 5744 powder. The next day I was looking at my primers and noticed that I used large pistol primers instead of large rifle. IS THIS SAFE TO USE???

I wouldn't worry too much considering you are barely running 45 ACP pressure with that load. The only problem I see is that since large pistol primers are shorter than large rifle primers they might not fire. Depends on how you seated them and how long your firing pin is.

I don't know what pressure that load is but if it is at 45ACP level then you will be OK. The primer will flaten easier because it has some extra room to get a run for the breach face.

I use them when I working with a unknown powder. I can see when the pressure starts comeing up before there is any real pressure to start slowing down.
