Does anyone know of a current source for Berdan primers that would fit a 308 case? Can someone tell me the correct size for 308? Thanks, have been searching internet, without any success.:banghead:

The primer diameter for the 7.62X51 cases that I have come across are .217.
My source for the primers dried up about two months ago and I have not found another, luckily I stocked up on a few. Maybe now that Wolf is selling primers they will bring in some Berdan.

Bad Finch and DTTW- thanks much, it be appreciated. Just not anxious to have all that once-fired military surplus cases go to waste. With the escaliting prices of reloading components, berdan priming and crimp removing are looking economical.

Doesn't have to go to waste, even if you can't find primers. Sell it at the scrapyard, take the cash and buy new or 1x fired boxer primed brass. Also, unless you have a berdan deprimer, might be a little difficult to reload those puppies.

if you want to get "hard core" zip on over to Parallax Bills C&R site and search for converting berdan to boxer primed brass.Doug Henry has one method, and maybe another 1 or 2. but they are labor intensive. jwr
