So I'm curious if something like this exists, I've been looking around and can't seem to find anything.

The nice thing about pocket holsters subcompacts (I have one for my Glock 26) is that they double as a 'storage' holster when I want to leave the gun in a nightstand, center console, overnight bag, etc. They cover the slide, and more importantly the trigger guard, and some of the frame. I could easily get a full grip on the gun and with a light, one-fingered forward flick, the gun came free from the holster.

What I'm running into is that I want something like that, but for a full sized gov't 1911. Something that is a holster - covers the slide, trigger guard, and hopefully the safety, but doesn't have any loops or belt clips. Just something I can slip the gun into, then drop it into a glove box, nightstand, or (my favorite spot) that pouch on the backside of the passenger seat in a vehicle.

I did come across this from crossbreed which is pretty close, and what I may end up going with, but I was hoping for something in leather or at least something that covered up a little more of the gun.

I guess in retrospect I could get a paddle holster similar to this one and just take the paddle off... just don't like the idea of dropping $100 on a holster I'm never going to wear.

I don't know why I didn't think of Raven Concealment. That's what I've got for my G26 and I absolutely love it. Their 1911 holsters do cover the safety, and they have them for quick ship too. That will solve all my problems and even give me a backup OWB holster if I ever need one. Thanks, having a big 'DUH' moment over here right now :banghead:

CPO15, and anyone else that may be curious: the Remora holster is exactly what I am looking for and it is AWESOME. I ordered one last week, and as part of their April sale they actually included a second holster free - I ordered mine with the full sweat guard so that the safety would be covered, and they gave me one without the sweat guard free. I have no intentions of using it as an IWB, but the material on the outside and inside of the holster make it perfect for sticking in a bag, pack, pouch, or even just setting on the desk in front of you. The gun slides out very easily, and the holster stays right where you put it.
