I have a mech jr. I think it is a model 600. (The label is scrached)

I have loaded a lot of reduced velosity #8 shot trap loads to shoot in my old double.

I am looking at turkey, coyote and home defence loads.

What is the largest size shot that will meter well in my system.

I've loaded BB in my Mec 600 Jr. with no problems. Soemtimes it will try to shear a pellet in half, but when I feel the resistence when I slide the bar, I just give it a jiggle or two and then continue sliding.

After some thought I realized that at some point the shot is designated in pellet count rather than weight, I believe that is the cut off for the shot bar. I've loaded all shot weights refrenced in my books using the shot bar, and all other's have obviously been hand counted and dropped in by hand.

I've read that the charge bars are sized to accurately charge a weight for small shot sizes, 7 1/2-8-or 9. Don't know if they will accurately dump a charge bar stamped weight with large shot. Since I have not loaded many large shot loads, I just weight them individually. It'd be interesting to see what MEC or others would have to say about this?
