I had my heart set on a Larue SPR, but I can't find one anywhere for a decent price. So I have been thinking about the Burris equivalent. I have no real experience with either, other than handling other peoples rifles with them mounted. I was basically going for the SPR based upon reputation.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these mounts? FWIW I want to put a vortex viper 2-7 on a M4gry.

Haven't tried the Larue but have the Burris and am very happy with it. Perfect eye relief and extremely secure (TWELVE screws for the rings).

The LaRue is very nice, but if you don't need the quick release feature the PEPR will work well for less money. I have a LaRue quick release for an EOTech because I often take it off and on to use irons, other optics, or for storage, but for my ARs equipped with scopes, I went with the PEPR to save some bucks. I don't ever take the scopes off.

You can never go wrong with LaRue, but the PEPR is a great mount for the money. They have the picatinny tops, but they also ship with smooth rings tops so you can choose to use the smooth over the rail or one of each if you just have a secondary optic on one rail top. Burris also released that they will have a quick detach PEPR mount out soon.

I'm a huge fan of LaRue, and have a SPR-E on my AR, but if you don't need the quick-release function, The PEPR should work fine for you.
