Hey guys, I am heading to Vegas in two weeks to play in the WSOP. I would like to check out some gun shops while I am there and wondered if y'all could recommend any?

Thanks

Ditto on the poor customer service from The Gun Store. I spent almost 700 dollars there and left and never will go back again.
while i am here typing does anyone know any good FFL's that i can do an out of state transfer through? i remember a year and a half ago when i was at The Gun Store they wanted 50 dollars for a transfer through them. that price is a rip off in my opinion.

"Bargain Pawn"

http://www.bargainpawn.com/

Bargain Pawn is cool...good people, no BS, reasonable prices, "A+" one could say...

'Accuracy' down on Boulder Highway in Henderson, used to be alright, anymore, just another cynical clip-joint with very poor eye contact or meaningful possibility of communication if any from the [personnel] working there, and 'transfers' for State Residents, of mundane handguns, they want 10 percent of the Gun's value...(Bargain Pawn is $25.00 for a transfer no matter the gun's value) so, Puhhhhhhhhh-Tooooey...I pretty well stopped even bothering to go there anymore even to look...

I don't know about any other ones...other than one on uhhhhh, Highland, near some strip clubs...snotty, ill-tempered [people] run it, ignorant and very hard to communicate with because of their attitude and bad English...and sadly, the floor-people-employees are nice, intelligent, knowledgeable...any of their gun prices are jacked-up and naive, senseless, or worse...they wanted 'Seffen-fi Dowah' for a mundane Transfer.

Oh well...went twice, realized their tune, never went back...

Not the Town it used to be...

Wow, Oyeboten .... Play nice, and get your facts straight on the transfer prices. I'll also suggest you edit some of your insults, I won't quote them, so you don't have to remain on the record, but do it ....

The gun store to which Oyeboten refers is Discount Firearms. If you act like a d-****, you'll be treated like one. They are safety-conscious there, and they do have a tourist demographic. None of them leave dissatisfied (of course, being tourists and usually new to the shooting sports, they are respectful, so it is returned, in kind). High-tech range equipment, superior ventilation, full-auto rentals, and a wide range of revolver/semi-auto rentals. Prices are competitive .... I don't know if we're talking about the same store, Oyeboten, because I do survey prices around town, more than fair, e.g., Ruger LCP $279, Kel-tec SU-16CA $530. Where are you going to find a better price, if you can even find those guns?

The Gun Store is fine as well, friendly staff at the counter. Maybe a little pricey on ammo. Never used their range, however. I believe they've made some big improvements on it in the last few years. They also have increased their retail floor space and the size of the range.

TimM: I'm assuming you're not going there to buy guns. You'll be at a hotel, on the strip, I assume? Short drive to Discount, The Gun Store, Citadel, American Shooters (which is fine as well). As far as buying guns, I've also heard good things about Bargain Pawn (Glen). Have fun, win some money :)

There's another one on Blue Diamond going towards Red Rock Canyon. Check the phone book at the hotel for more and their locations.

Thanks for the info fellas. I will check out as many as I can but hopefully I won't bust out early and be playing the entire 4 day event. If I do cash however, I will definitely visit the shops and spend some of those newly earned dollars.

Visit the Gun Store and rent the M-249. Just about the only place you will ever have a chance to shoot one of those outside of the military.

I've been to discount firearms a couple of times and bought some AR lowers for a good price, no complaints there. "Foreigners" running the place?? There is an asian lady there but I'm sure that she is not a "foreigner", are you some kind of racist or something?

I have also bought a few things at American shooters on Arville. They have a range with full auto rentals as well. I have bought a few things at Citadel with good service.

I didn't care about the place on Blue Diamond in the SW, whatever it was called.

I'm gonna have to check out bargain pawn now.

http://www.discountfirearmsinc.com
best indoor range in vegas and closest range to the strip
they have full auto rentals, including the m-249

the older asian lady is anna, owner of the store. very very nice lady if you get to know her...

tactical to practical is on blue diamond, they're over priced and bad customer service like "the gun store"

I've got to put in a good word for Discount Firearms too. Nice, clean, well-ventilated range. Competitive firearm prices.

And if you can be civil, you'll find that Anna is very knowledgeable about firearms. Besides, her English is better than a certain poster's spelling. <G>

I agree on both.

I go to American Shooter's (Off of Arville and Spring Mountain) to shoot at the range, Open 9am-9pm, gun store closes at 6pm.

They have a well ventilated range, and they charge $10 for all day range shooting. And you can bring your own ammo as long as it's not steel, or fammable (Bear), shoot what ever you want.

PS, call them to make sure they aren't remodeling the range.

They also have a Henderson range/store too. Never been there.

I did not wish to pay $75.00 plus 'Brady', for a simple Transfer of a mundane Handgun.

I do not wish to pay "10 %" of a Gun's selling price, for a simple Transfer, if the gun's value puts the transfer fee into several hundred dollars.

Those who may wish to do so, are free to do so.

If a Business is willing to assert fees such as those, they are only trying to fleece the gullible.

I have no respect for that.

And it makes me wonder what else they are pulling or will try and pull.

Hence, I prefer to do Business with people who I do respect.

And, it's more fun that way...too.

I have not been to Lv in a couple of years. However, when I lived there I used to go to A-1 Gun shop on Boulder Highway. Owner was a man named Rick. His counter help was active LE people and were very knowledgable and friendly. Fair prices, good selection. He also had a gun smith on premises. Hope this helps.

correction to last.

The name of the LV, Boulder highway store was Accuracy gun shop. sorry my mistake. been a while..

If still in business, Machinegun Kelly's down by the airport has some good selections. Haven't done any gun shopping there in years but they pretty decent. Also, Citadel is very good.

If you do the trek around the Valley you can hit em all in a day :)
Accuracy on Boulder Highway

Center Mass - Boulder Highway in Henderson - Leon has some nice stuff

Black Rifle Armory
- Henderson , not a big shop , but usually has great inventory. I find Martin to be a darn good guy.

Spurlocks - just off water Street in Henderson , Rance is a great guy , the new store is coming along nicely.

American Shooters - Boulder Highway in Henderson - range was just redone , and is now open.

Gun Store - Tropicana Great place to rent subguns. Store is now divided into two buildings , retail in one , rentals/range in the other. Bob has been in business for a long time. They also have one of the best class III armors.

Citadel - close to the strip , off 15 & Flamingo area , if you have black rifle disease , leave your wallet at home :)

Discount Firearms - fairly close to the strip , Anna runs a nice shop.

Bargain Pawn - downtown LV- Glen is a great guy to deal with.

are there any FFL's like the one i see people talk about from other states that are in the 10-15 dollar range for transfers? when you add on the background check fee things start to get expensive.
