I'm interested in laser training systems such as the Rovatech Bullite (http://www.bullite.com/). Has anyone tried one of these systems? What did you think of it? What types of targets did you use? I heard somewhere that there are audio response targets available that sound a tone when you hit the target or bullseye, does anyone know about this?

AVOID BULLITE!!

I used to be a cheerleader for their product - untl I ran into corporate apathy for customer service.

I bought a Bullite shortly after it first came out. The idea of a device contained within the chamber, asopposed to sticking out the end of the muzzel, seemed akin to genius. It sure made draw strokes easier to practice, as nothing got hung up. Double-taps, hammers, and courses of fire using DAO or DA/SA and reflective targets were a breeze.

Then some connection worked loose. It was not just me, as Rovatec had to do a rebuild and contacted me about replacing a part. Maybe I just got the proverbial 1 in 1,000 lemon, but it never seemed to work after that. Replaced the part TWICE - with about a 12-week time delay for shipping to Isreal and back each time.

After many communications with Sam (the head guy in Maryland) it seemed that I could not get a response from anyone any more. I shipped it back to Isreal (certified, return receipt, insured, proof of delivery, etc.) with a letter requesting a fix or replacement.

Since then - nada!

I've been using the Laserblaster www.laserdevices.com/product.php?id=23 . It has it's problems, what with sticking out the end of the muzzel, and occassionally loosening up and working loose (a few turns of electric tape makes a great wedge:). But it keeps on ticking. Just remember to take out the battery tube after each session, to avoid run-down.

stay safe.

AVOID

I bought a Bullite and it did not work. Very slow to respond via e-mail, about a week to get a reply. They sent me a replacement part that they said would fix it, it took six weeks before they shipped. The part didn't fix the problem. I mentioned the word "return" and they stopped responding to my e-mails. They have not returned a single e-mail since. This was last summer.

Too bad. I just was looking at their site and was thinking, "Whoa... this is awesome."

but, I definitely don't like what I just was reading about them.

One remark of the company not responding is one thing, but two similar remarks is another.

I have a Bullite for mt 45 and while it is OK, I am finding that I spend more time just dry firing without it. I have not had any issues with it aside from not being centered, so I have to orient it in a certain way to make the laser hit POA. I also find that the targets arent as reflective as they seem. Shooting across my garage its hard to see the hits without looking at the target. Not a good habit, in my book. Its nifty and has some good points, but again, I am finding that I spend more time without it.

Prior to the Bullite, I owned a BeamHit system. I really enjoyed this as there was an audible response to hitting the target, so you could focus on the sights. Unfortunately my target fried and I can not find the base unit anymore. I think they still make stuff, but its pricey.
