The StoptheNRA dopes have launched a last minute campaign to promote SB 43 Md Assault Weapons Ban of 2007 as per below.

Take Action Today to Ban Assault Rifles in Maryland!
Email Today and Join Us in Annapolis Tomorrow

Dear Maryland StoptheNRA Member,

Tomorrow, we have a chance to advance important gun violence prevention legislation when the State Senate’s Judicial Proceedings Committee hears testimony on our bill to ban assault rifles (SB 43). We need a show of force in Annapolis to help pass this life-saving legislation.

Join Us Tuesday, February 27th, in Annapolis
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee
Hearing on SB 43 to Ban Assault Rifles in Maryland
2 East Miller Senate Building,
11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD
Tuesday, February 27, 1:00 PM

In Maryland, one assault rifle is traced back to a crime every 48 hours. How is this possible? President Bush and Congress allowed the federal Assault Weapons Ban to expire in 2004, leaving Maryland without any ban on military-style assault rifles. These weapons of war are once again being bought and sold in Maryland, including the Bushmaster rifle -- the weapon of choice for the D.C.-area snipers in 2002. We need to get these weapons out of Maryland’s communities.

Here is what you can do today:

1. Attend tomorrow's Senate Committee Hearing on our bill (SB 43) to ban assault rifles in Maryland (that's Tuesday, February 27, at 1 pm).

2. Email the Senate Committee today and tell them: "Support SB 43 to Ban Assault Rifles in Maryland!" One click will email the entire committee.

3. Forward this e-mail to friends, family, and colleagues in Maryland.

4. Click here to contribute to our efforts in Maryland and across the country.

To read the report "Every 48 Hours: An Analysis of Assault Rifles Traced to Crime in Maryland," and to connect with the gun violence prevention movement locally, please contact Ceasefire Maryland.

Thank you for helping to keep military-style assault rifles off our streets!

Sincerely,
Your Friends at StoptheNRA.com

?????? where the hell did they get those numbers? Are they including traffic infractions, jay walking(carrying an "AW" ) , or any other menial breaking of the law where an "assault weapon" is within 100' ? Just doesn't add up , you would think you would hear about all these "assault weapons' crimes on the news as a huge crime wave .

More than just that, I have looked into their questionable propaganda, they include crimes including non-violent ones committed where someone left their "assault weapon" home. also someone that legally possesed one and later was convicted of a crime or had an exparte on them and were therefore instantly commiting a gun crime. they also site sources like "internet information" and "IMO".

e-mail addy's of Senate Judicial Members. Pls fire off a quick e-mail opposing bill

I urge you to Oppose SB 43 The Assault Weapons Ban of 2007.

As per the Md State Police Uniform Crime Reports crimes are NOT being committed with these firearms.

It is a bad bill that will only serve to criminalize law abiding citizens and further restrict Second Amendment Rights guaranteed us in the Constitution.

Tx and I'll see you in Annapolis Tues.
