Well, I was asking help between an Axis and a Ruger, but found a steal on a used Tikka, so stuff happens when you get in a store.

d2wing ( like that moniker ) you are so right. You think you got a handle on what you want and need and then a rifle or shotgun just reaches out and says, " Take me home Big Boy" and there goes the whole she-bang. :uhoh:

Your Featherweight will be a real pleasure to walk & shoot with.

I have a 20" pencil barrel Savage that is barely noticeable when carrying, but handles
and shoots like a heavier rifle.

twofifty I am sure looking forward to getting my hands on the Winny. I was all set on a Ruger 77 compact ( and I have heard good things about their accuracy and reliability ) but picked one up and that was it, just didn't take to it at all. The Tikka was very viable option, their respected name coupled with Sako, but not a synthetic man, love the feel and look of Walnut. A drop in wood replacement stock was availible, but pushed the price to the top. The Win. Compact was always hovering and just looks sharp but was the highest priced ( until Tikka with stock rose up ). M77 feel and Tikka's rising cost just made the Winny stand out and that was it. Done. I have had one of the new FN Win. M70 sporter and it was just perfect, beautiful and accurate and as smooth as silk, thought I was racking a Sauer or Sako or Styer. So hoping the Featherweight feels the same, shoots the same and plan on putting some honest nicks on it and watching it age gracefully. Yes sir believe you are right the Featherweight will be just fine.
