In the Senate, Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and John Warner (R-VA) have introduced S. 2109 which will renew the law for another ten years. S. 2109 is identical to the amendment offered by Senators Feinstein and Warner that passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 52-47 on March 2. Although that amendment died when the underlying legislation was defeated, Senators Feinstein and Warner will soon try again to renew the assault weapons ban. In the House of Representatives, Representatives Mike Castle (R-DE) and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) have introduced identical legislation, H.R. 3831.

Neither bill shows much chance of going anywhere; but always good to be alert and use the correct bill numbers in your correspondence. It lets the Congresscritters know you are watching them on this one.

Man, Fi has just got a pathological obsession with this thing, doesn't she? Let it go, lady. Get help.

Maybe if Bush didn't say he would sign it, she would (just a rhetorical joke). GWB is an enabler for her and Chuck, don't you think?

Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2004 (Introduced in Senate)

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

`SEC. 110105. SUNSET PROVISION.

`This subtitle and the amendments made by this subtitle are repealed September 13, 2014.'.

I see that one of Ohio's RINO Senators, Dewine, has his name attached to this piece of legislation. He's worthless. Voinovich isn't much better. They're both sorry excuses.

Man alive, you've got to hand it to Dianne Feinstein, she really cares about this cause. While I know NONE of us agree with her, I still repect that she is so die hard on this issue and refuses to back down. If we had a few senators that were as gung-ho about weapons issues as Feinstein was we would be in good shape.

Dianne Feinstein is a liberal idiot. I would like to know how many people that she represents actually want this, or is this just some crusade that she has a hard on for.

I also would like to know how J F Kerry stands on this new attempt.

I also would like to know how J F Kerry stands on this new attempt.

Well considering it is identical in language to the amendment he voted for on March 2, 2004 - I'd say he supports it. Strange that neither him or Teddy wanted to be a sponsor of the bill though.

Diane feinstein recently stopped accepting emails (allegedly due to "spam") and now requires internet correspondence to be entered through a web form.

I respect her like I respect Adolf Hitler - an anti-freedom, big-brother politican who knows how to manipulate people for support.

Which is to say, I don't respect her at all.:barf:

Damn that DeWine. I just put a letter in the mail a couple weeks back stating that the ban only hurt law abiding citizens and that I will not support anyone who acts on it.

On the phone, on the e-mail, and snail mail as of 7:30pm MST 5/20/04.

Hang on folks, the next 4 months are going to take a lot of our time. But it'll be worth it!!!:cuss: :fire:

ANTI-FREEDOM WITCH!!!!

The rest ain't fit for mixed company.

I also would like to know how J F Kerry stands on this new attempt.

Note that Kerry flew to Washington on Super Tuesday, taking a break from his campaigning in California, to vote for the AWB's rider on S. 1805.

If that doesn't show where his priorities lie, nothing does.

Time to write my critters again.

OK. I'll concede to Diane. Abolish the IRS, ATF, TSA and income tax and I'll give up my black guns for another ten years. Yep, I'm a traitor, but in ten years time I'll be a rich traitor with my black guns. :)

I will give Feinstein credit for not backing down, standing up for her beliefs, etc. etc. but what i want to know is:
1.) How will/did she get re-elected?
2.) She's like 80. Why isn't she dead yet?

socalgeek

She's like 80. Why isn't she dead yet?

I think she doesn't come out in daylight, stays away from people with wooden stakes, avoids mirrors and crosses and (of course) garlic.

Warner has got to go. Impeach or recall, what a thug.

Oh, i just figured she was like Dick Clark-- she's been dead for years but there are exact copies of her in pods in her boiler room.

re: vampiric comments

You just need a video (nv of course) of her feeding... then you've got her!

Guys, c'mon, dont call her a Vampire. Its a running joke among myself and friends that I'm half-vampire, as a result of working graveyard shift for so long. Now, I feel insulted...

Maybe if you bite her, you can control her. Yeah, I got a plan. Wait for the word, and you could save us all...

I'm only half-vampire (all of thier weakness's, none of thier strengths, lol), so I doubt it would work.
