I have a relative who is a retired from NYPD and is frustrated that there is no program in place for him to qualify for National carry under the Law Enforcement Act of 2004. He is planning to send a letter of inquiry to our NY State & local politicians to get an official answer as to why this is the case, and wants to include a list of all other cities & states which have already implemented a program.

I tried checking on the Packing.org website for such info, but the site appears to be down right now. Can anyone direct me to such a list?
thanks.

That I heard a rumor that NYPD was messing with LE reciprocity...I guess I was right.

I would venture that blooming idiot (bloomberg) is an influence in their stonewalling...he won't be mayor forever...I bet other depts would honor his retired NYPD ID without asking much more...it stinks that he has to jump thru hoops, I know how he feels ... I have a ccw that lets me carry all over, but not in my old hometown:cuss:

My retired ID states on the back that I am authorized to carry or I'm not. I do the regular annual qualification with the active officers.

Willing to take money in return for enforcing NYC laws?

That's nice.
