there is none.all that is seen are huge dollar signs.does this mean i can sue the people that made our tableware for me being overweight or the people that made..couches for making me tired??tv dinners that made me lazy???morons.

Suing the kids who actually committed the crimes would be pointless, as they are broke. Only by suing big ol' companies like Sony and WallyWorld can you hop on the gravy train for the rest of your life.

Miami lawyer Jack Thompson and local lawyer Richard Talley alleged the game "inspires and trains players to shoot at vehicles and persons."
I can't even imagine how bad a shot I'd be if playing GTA3 was my method of training. Thompson, Talley - catch a clue. Anyone with half a brain can see through your BS.

Unrelated aside - The Douglas Lowenstein mentioned in the article? I installed his Blackberry handheld two weeks ago. Small world...

It's called 'effective parenting'. This idjit was on a local radio show here in Dallas today and the host (Russ Martin) ripped on him but the weasel hung up on him. Station called him back to see if he'd come back on the air but the attorney told the producer to have carnal knowledge of himself.

I peek into this ambulance chaser's mind...I never knew ambulances ran between Knoxville and Miami.

BTW, Russ Martin now owns the website www.jackthompson.com. A major oversight on the shyster's part. Stand by for something very uncomplimentary on that site within 24 hours.

Rabbit.

"I can't even imagine how bad a shot I'd be if playing GTA3 was my method of training"

That's the same thing I was thinking when they showed the columbine boys "training"(shooting from hip etc) Media fails to realize gun handling techniques and stuff in movies are not real or training, but it makes a good story :barf:

What ever happened to self responsibility???
I've played plenty of shooting games for almost 20 years and I havent shoot up a school or done anything stupid...
What do you mean self-responsibility? It's not the perpetrators' parents who are suing - it's the victims'. What do they have to be responsible for?

Nothing, but they should also realize that Sony and Wally-World are not responsible.
As was said earlier, they need someone with deep pockets to sue.

What do you mean self-responsibility?

I believe he means people should be accountable for their own actions. None of this BS of trying to make the criminals looks like they were victims.

I, like the rest of you, believe that people are responsible for their own actions. I do not like these lawsuits that claims mr. a did this because of a product that mr. b sells/makes etc.

But, I do have a problem with games such as this that glorify crime. Is this not the same game in which your "man" can commit rapes? There is nothing that can justify makeing and selling this garbage to anyone. Why would anyone want to play a game in which you can hurt and kill innocent people? I can understand the various military/police games where you kill the enemy/bad guy, but these games make the criminal the good guy. This is not right! These types of games should be banned.
