I'm wondering what kind of lead-free 9mm self defense ammo is out there and if its any good. I've seen the Barnes XP all-copper 9mm hollow points that seem decent but I have no experience with them.
Most use that Barnes bullet. In general, they are all pricey, and light for caliber since they are all copper, with no lead to reduce cost or increase weight. However, all are regarded as some of the best available.
By "good" I mean the ammo is surefire and gets 12''+ of penetration.
Is there a hollowpoint that contains lead but the lead is completely encased in copper? I.e. a copper hollowpoint with a lead base. Seems that such a round would tumble easily.
