Lead Price?

It depends on the lead/tin/antimony mix. Reclaimed wheel weights seem to go for about .90/lb shipped. Stick on wheel weights (99.5% lead, .5%tin) sell for about $1/lb shipped. If you are looking to purchase a bucket of wheel weights from a tire shop they can run anywhere from free to $60 a bucket. A full 5 gallon bucket of wheel weights will weigh about 120-150 lbs. Then they have to be processed into a usable form.

If you are looking to purchase from a foundry then check out Rotometals HERE.

I am generally happy to pay around $1/pound for smelted and ingoted wheel weights. I recently came across a fellow who is selling ingoted "pure" (reclaimed stick-on WW and plumbing lead) for the same price.

Dang their over twice what I was selling Foundry cast hardball, 2/6/92, maybe it's time for another ton or two:)

I am a part time plumber and the shop is next to a garage that changes a lot of tires. Cheap weights and we have been removing a lot of old cast iron sewer pipes recently. I was checking the prices out at our local scrap yard when turning in some brass. I think that it will be smart of me to save my lead for personal use as I can't afford their prices to buy more. Yes it has gone down recently but it will have to be about 1/3 the price before it will get my attention.

Hi Rich!

Your question would be well answered if you contacted some of the metal suppliers in your area. Your question cannot be answered directly because you have not specified what the content of the alloy is that you are interested in. You will need to specify this in order to obtain a correct quotation.

I trust that this will help you.
