So, while cleaning one of my pistols (Ruger Mk3, .22LR), I got a piece of a cleaning rod stuck in the barrel.

Does anyone know of a good solvent that could be sprayed down in there that would work out the lead that is causing the rod to be stuck there? If it has to sit a day or so it is fine, and if the rod piece is ruined I don't care; so long as it comes out and the gun is not ruined.

Does anyone know of a really strong lead remover that can work its way in and loosen this up?

Are you absolutely sure that it's lead causing the jam? If not, you might do some damage to the rifling inside the bore, and would probably be better off taking it to a gunsmith.

Hell, even if it is leading causing the jam..that'd have to be some serious leading to get a cleaning rod stuck like that. Might want to take it to a 'smith regardless just to make sure.

Don't use big patches and it will not stick.

You need to lube it heavily and then drive the stuck jag back the way it came with a bore fitting brass rod.

I have seen the same problems with pull troughs; you cannot pull a t-shirt through the bore.
