Patch Worm Cleaning kit

You can make your own with weed eater nylon string and an empty cartridge case the size of the bore. For a .22 lr put an empty cartriage case in a vise heat it and melt about a 3' length of nylon string to fill the case, douse with water and you've got a string to pull through the barrel. stick the string through a .22 patch with cleaner and feed it through the bore and pull it through. Clean bore, fits in pocket.

The patch worms are priced reasonably. It would be good to support the guys that thought of the idea.

Its funny, but before reading this thread I had never even thought of single piece cleaning rods, though I have busted more multipiece ones than I care to think about it. I might ahve to order one of those dewey rods and give it at try.

Otis "Tactical" gun cleaning kit...

I just picked up one of these kits...they come with "cables" vs. ridged rods.

It's a kit that folds/winds up into a pouch that fits on the top of your hand. I have looked at them for a while thinking I'd love to have one in my range bag (I have plenty of one piece rods at home--Dewey, etc) but I never bought one because of the cost ($40.00+). The "Tactical" kit which is set up for about all "normal long and handguns" comes with three diff. length cables plus ends, brushes, patch savers, patches, fluid, etc.

When Galayans was sold to Dick's this fall...the prices really dropped. When I saw I could get the Tactical Kit for $13.28...I bit.

I honestly have not used it yet, but it's supposidly endorsed by some of our armed forces...(who really knows). It IS a "one piece" rod (flexible rod I guess).

I'm looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

Bob
