Lead Sled makes you a recoil woosie???

Just so y'all will know: This argument about sandbags vs. machine rest has been going on for over sixty years that I know of. :)

Tends to make me shuffle off to the nearest bottle of bourbon, mumbling to myself about folks picking flypoop out of pepper. :D:D:D

Hey, you guys that use the machines are still ahead of the pukes that play video games that involve pretend shooting and driving senarios. Right on Art.

Ummmm....I do that too. PS3, baby. 53" 1080p, 2 X 15" subs, 700+ watts of surround sound, the shooting range is actually quieter.:D

I have fired thousands of rounds off bags, and this is simply not true. I single feed when sighting in, and there is no way to get EXACTLY the same hold twice off bags. Second, bag placement for and aft effects POI, and the Sled takes that variable away.

Maybe I should explain that the .22 is a Magnum Research w/ a carbon fiber / graphite barrel & a 5X15 AO Bushnell elite. The barrel weighs a whispy 13oz, and it is difficult to keep it steady. It will drill 3/4 moa all day, but I will not be able to get to its absolute potential without a rest, and I am curious to see what it will do. Like Barry said, this is about testing the equipment, not the shooter.
AKE, maybe so, but this wasn't in your origninal post. You had asked for a way to prevent the coffee shakes from affecting the sighting-in of your rifle. I agree that bags will not prevent movement to the point where you don't need to aim between shots, but that wasn't what you asked.

Further, it's normal for the POI to shift with different bullet weights and even shapes. The change in POI from a 150 to 165 gr bullet in ammo from different manufacturers wasn't necessarily due to the use of bags or to operator error.

You had asked about a steady adjustable rest and stressed that recoil was not an issue, and I believe bags provide a steady adjustable rest.
