I have noticed that some scope bases have 20 or 22 moa of cant. Im familiar with the moa part but what is cant? Im also looking for some decent 30mm "high or tall" rings for tactical applictaion on my remy 700 or howa 1500.

In my dictionary, CANT refers to the scope or rifle being rotated sideways. Long range scope bases will often have maybe 20 MOA of elevation built in - like Zak says.

If you have a 30mm scope, you may not need that slanted base tho.

I have some spare Leupolds bases and rings that I would sell cheap. Silver, 30 mm, non-slanted.

Gun ad writers don't always go by the dictionary.

If you are shooting beyond about 600 yards, a tapered/canted/slanted/sloped base is desirable, even if you have a 30mm scope with a lot of adjustment. Things are better in the middle of the adjustments at your most used or most difficult range.

Actually I just like to look for the smart ass remarks that come from all the "PERFECT" folks here...
