I've just cast a bunch of these for use in .38 sp loads. My standard .357 load is the lyman 358156 (158 gr gas checked SWC) I've been real pleased with that bullet in .38 level loads. Now I'm thinking how it would do out of .357 magnum level loads. I'm just not sure about that slight bevel making this bullet a poor choice for hotter loads. Any input is appreciated. I like Unique, W231 and 2400 for my cast loads. Anyone using this mold for .357 loads successfully?

i shoot it over 15.5grs of h110 in hunting season.
shot some the other day it was hot the barrel got hot & leaded a little
cleaned out with a tite patch though!!
i lube these with a lube from a member on castboolits & it works!!
i cast these from WW that checks at 15 bhn air cooled.
they work in all my 38caliber handguns!!!
i took the bevel out of my mold ,showing promise !!

Bula--I've shot it over 10 grs of Blue Dot and 15 grs of wc820(surplus powder think AA9, H-110, 296) out of a Ruger gp 100 6" and a Rossi singleshot .357 rifle. Loads run 1250fps-1300 fps out of the pistol and 1500+ out of the rifle. The pistol will group 2-3" at 50 yds and the rifle will do 3-4" at 100 yds off the bench. Mine are bevel based and cast out of 50/50 wheel wts and linotype, leading is not a problem. I think your 2400 would work just fine in the 13-14 gr range.

Thank You Gentlemen.
I guess I'll give it a try. I plan on using W231 for loads about 1000 fps (estimated 5-6 gr) and I'll be happy if I can get 1200 or so with 2400 (estimated 13 gr 2400). Thanks again guys.
