This is about the black plastic clamp that attaches to the ram and holds the square ratchet for the auto index rod.

Is yours centered with repect the the slot in the ram where the primer seater is positioned??

Nope. With that slot at 6 o'clock my indexing rod is at 11-11:30. The plastic collar tends to move around some because the rod doesn't remain vertical in operation.

+1 pinkymingeo.
mine's all over the place. if you're having trouble with your indexing, you need to adjust the rod or get a new ratchet. the ratchets are free from lee, but I would email them if you want the right part the first time.

Tell them you are dissatisfied that they didn't give you more ratchets for the press when you got it, it's a part that wears out too often and is too cheap not to have an extra...just like an extra button on a good shirt.

It doesn't wear out too soon at all. I've never worn one out and have many thousands and thousands of rounds through the CT and my four hole press before that. If you remove the turret with the press ram down, it puts stress on the ratchet which doesn't do it any good. Raise the ram an inch or so before manually moving the turret and you'll never wear it out. It's not an adjustable part and neither is the the housing that keeps it.

If your press is not indexing properly, make the adjustement one way or the other to the nut on the top of the index rod and that's it - doesn't need to be done again no matter how many times it is inserted and removed. Adjusting things that are not meant to be adjusted will compound the problem instead of solving it. If I sound short, I don't mean to, but this seems to be a problem for a few people and they end up getting frustrated because they are trying to fix something that has nothing to do with the issue.

Remove the turret (without the press ram at the bottom) and then the index rod. Get a 1/4" wrench and a then place the index rod nut back into the turret (using it as another wrench outside the press). Hold the index rod with the wrench and then turn the nut (using the turret) counter clockwise just a little bit which is slightly more than enough that you felt it move. Try it - repeat until you get it right. Don't play with the nut too much as it's a stop nut and you don't want it to loosen it's grip.
