Lee decapping pin breaking??

Hahaha!

It is really bad when the OP gets answers to a question he never asked, over and over again.

His Lee FL sizing die works fine, the problem is the neck sizing die. If anyone bothered to read the first post in whole they would have seen that important bit of info.

Lee neck sizing dies don't have sliding pins. They are captive(they don't move.)

I was starting to think I misread it.

The mandrel in the NS die floats. Of never before one. You should be able to feel if it is going in the hole or not.

My guess is ether off center flash holes, Beardan primed, or the holes are to small. You may not feel undersized holes until you withdraw.

Kingmt is right the Lee "Decap Mandrel" is a rigid one piece unit and is not adjustable. Here is the way the neck sizer works. It punches out the primer then stops. At that point, per directions, you are required to put considerable force on the press (up to 25 lbs) to complete the sizing. Because of this, it is hard to tell if the resistance is typical or a too tight flash hole. After reading all your answers along with the quote from Lee, I'm convinced that it is the too small flash hole, probably in the Lellier & Bellott ammo. The second one that broke was probably pulled out of the mandrel because it was stuck so tightly in the hole, I couldn't get it out. I had assumed they broke off, but now I believe they simply pulled out. So, I'm going to throw out the L&B brass and stick with the Winchester only. Thanks to all who wrote. It is enormously helpful to have you all available to guide me.

So it was pulling the pins out of the mandrel, not breaking the pins? That happens with certain pistol brass for me. I just push them back in. You can get a long drill and just drill out the flash hole from the top and then deprime and use your brass.
