A simple (I hope) question. I have all Lyman reloading equipment. I just added a 32 S&W long caliber to my assortment of guns. With the difference in price of the Lee die set compared to the Lyman or RCBS, I’m thinking of getting the inexpensive Lee dies. BUT, will the Lee three die set work in my Lyman press?

Yes, assuming you're not talking a very, very old press or dies. Even then, you would probably be fine, but there were a few oddballs that used different threads back in the day.

If the press has 7/8x14 TPI threads they will work.

Very old Lyman presses used 5/8"x30 TPI dies.

Thanks for the replies.

My press is old, but I don’t know about the “Very” part. I bought it used back in 1961. All of the dies I’ve purchased in the last few years (Lyman & RCBS) fit fine so I assume it’s the 7/8x14. The only gun I’ll be shooting 32 long in dates back to the early 1920’s, but at $38 for a box of factory ammo, I won’t be shooting it at all without reloading those 50 cases.

If you bought RCBS dies recently and they worked in your press so will the Lee dies.

I use mostly RCBS rifle dies but most of my handgun dies are made by Lee. The price is right and the ammo they produce is accurate for me, what's not to like?
