Lee Hand Press?

Keep and eye on gunbroker, ebay, auction arms, craigslist, etc. for used hand presses. I got my LHP as a kit with .357/.38 dies for under $40 - of course, S&H was a kicker. Also check Lee's website under the "closeout" section - they sell remanufactured and returned stuff there for a few bucks off.

I've recently upgraded to a lee turret press, but I'll keep the hand press for just what has been described: portability. Or for when it's 120 degrees in my garage in August, so I can reload in the house!

From what I have seen on Ebay, the cheaper Lee presses sell for more than new. I guess some people don't have access to catalogs.

I never understand the people that pay more for stuff on ebay than you can buy it new from other suppliers. I saw some people bidding on a new lee hand press they were at 27 bucks plus 12 for shipping. I mean natchez has them for 21 and change and less shipping. Someone else had a set of those lee powder dippers for like 15 bucks. It's like they have internet, ebay isn't the only place to buy stuff.

I know. I called them, and they said they were expecting a shipment of Lee products in Late Jan., but it is now mid-Feb and they are still OOS..

When I ordered mine about 3 to 4 weeks ago they had 8 in stock. I guess they just go fast. There is also a lymann hand press. It is called an Accupress. It can be used for a hand press or bolted to a bench.

I just wrote them and asked. They said check back in a couple of weeks. We will see they have great prices on stuff I was needing but they only had one item in stock out of 6 or so things I was wanting. Seems like they have more things out of stock than in stock. I wish they were like midway and let you go ahead and order it then ship it to you when it comes in.

I have 3 Lee Hand Presses and a Rockchucker. I use the Rockchucker for resizing, and I load with the Hand Presses (seating die in one and crimp die in another). Before I got my Rockchucker, I used my other Hand Press for my resizing dies.

Some guys have questioned my "methods", but it works for me.;)

I just resized about 50 .45/70 range pickups today w/ my Compac and Redding dies. With the right amount of grease, resizing was super easy.
