I confess. I succumbed to the pressure--for awhile. My first and last bidding war.

eBay just had a Lee Loader in .32 ACP listed. I waited till the last day (yesterday) to bid. Price had stayed around $20 or so, until I jumped into the fray. Was willing to pay around $30+S/H. Ended up walking away at $40.

It's so easy to get into a bidding war, unless you set your absolute max price before you make your first bid, and then stick to it. Otherwise, you get into the trap of thinking, "Heck, I can go just one more dollar." You do that enough times, and, pretty soon, you're talkin' real money.

One might ask why buy a Lee Loader in .32 auto? Why not just buy dies? Well, I've got an old French semi-auto that I'd like to shoot only every now and then, maybe 10-12 rounds at a time. I'd rather use the old whacker for reloading than handling those small bullets and powder in the turret press.

Been there, done that.... :banghead:

If you really want one in like new shape, shoot me a PM, may be able to help you on this one. ;)

Why do you guys even bother bidding and getting into these stupid bidding wars. SNIPE. Snipe ebay auctions and you won't ever overpay and you lose the human factor out of it, the "i must win" factor.

What you do is wait til about 7 seconds left in the auction (yup, 7 or so seconds til the end of the auction) and then place your bid. That way no one other than another sniper will be able to change their bids because the auction will have ended.

If you don't win, then who cares, it was higher than your price anyways. If you win, you win with a lower amount because you prevented a bidding war.

Bidding war=bad for price!!

Snipe=no bidding wars.

philbo, PM sent. Thanks.

bobotech, i've done that, too. This time, i got a little too anxious about getting it.
