Lee Pro 1000 question, setup of the autodisk?

is there a tutorial or something that details how to setup the powder autodisk? I've checked videos and the instructions on leeprecision.com and it's not helpful.

1. does it require a riser adapter? (http://leeprecision.com/auto-disk-riser.html) or is that just helpful?

2. most of my dies have a threaded rod through the expander die, i assume i can just remove this and put the riser in?

3. any more advice? i received this unit used and it's missing some pieces, so i'm working to figure out what's missing and how to get it all together.

1. The riser is only needed if you need extra clearance for some reason, such as the Safety Prime on the Lee Turret. You don't need it on a Pro 1000.

2. A threaded rod through the expander? Are we talking about older RCBS dies? The autodisk really only works with Lee expander dies. We are talking pistol dies, right?

The press in the video is the Classic Turret press and as Scimmia posted, you do not need the riser for the Pro 1000 as chain and lever is used to cycle the disk.

If that part looks like this, it's the funnel adapter so you can expand the case neck and still use a funnel to charge the case. When using the Auto Disk, you do not need this part.

Yeah, not going to work with the Autodisk. If you want to use it, you'll need to purchase Lee Powder-Through expanding dies. They're sold separately, so you don't need to buy all new sets; sizing, seating, and crimping dies from any manufacturer will work just fine.
 
The Lee expander dies usually run under twelve bucks from Midway and other vendors. Only reason I'd replace the full set is if I didn't have carbide dies in that caliber.
