I was having issues with my lee classic turret not priming deep enough and creating misfires.

I found a youtube video of how to fix it and it works great. if you put a flat head screw driver in the slot the priming arm goes in and turn it the proper direction and the ram will spin and line the priming arm up correctly and you will get the proper seating depth.

I couldn't get any of my reloads to fire before I did this trick and ever one of them fired last night and all seated to the proper depth.

I figured this could help someone in the future as I almost sold the priming tools for the press and went back to hand priming.

I'm at a loss as to why you are having so much trouble priming on press with your setup. I have been using my Lee Turret press for over 10 years now and have never had even one primer not seated well enough to cause a misfire.

I would contact Lee, it sounds like something might be out of spec, that is as long as it's not user error.

it works great now. the guy in the youtube vid said the ram gets turned and needs to be lined up with the slot the priming arm goes in on the red base.

the priming tool wasn't fitting in the middle of the 2 ridges it was hitting the top of the left ridge and not letting the cup come all the way up. after watching this video they all go bang and seat to correct depth.

before fixing this none would go off. now they all do.

You never mentioned the arm was out if alignment or I and many others could have told you how to fix it without a video. Sorry that was missed.

I didn't know it was until I came across this video. I was actually watching another lee video and seen this on the side and said huh ill try that and see if that's the issue and it was.

I'm not sure I trust advice from a video that signs off with the statement that 223 takes large primers......
That's not what he said. He said that some of us would notice that he was using a large primer with a 223 shell holder and asked that "we not judge him".
He knew it wasn't set up properly.
He was simply demonstrating how to align the shell holder adaptor on the press.
I discovered this issue awhile ago and came up with another method to move the primer arm over but I think this guy's method looks easier.
I thought the video was informative.

Ohihunter, do you have any way to post photos from a camera? One picture is worth much more than any number of words, if the words don't paint the whole picture :)

I have my camera phone but the issue is fixed the same way the video shows. I wasn't aware the priming arm wasn't lined up and after watching this vid I tried moving it and it now primes great.

the point of the post was to try and help someone rather than me shooting off a bunch of questions at least try and help someone like you guys help me.

You're correct....I missed the "doesn't" in "and 223 DOESN'T use large primers"

Not enough ear protection while shooting, I guess.
