Greetings,

Does anybody know a source for a true magnum length left-hand bolt action? I would like to build a custom Elk rifle in .300 H&H or possibly a .338 H&H wildcat. I don't care if the action is new production, or from a 40 year old Interarms import. I am NOT interested in a .30-06 length "magnum" action that fits the 7mm/.300/.338 series, nor one of the new "short mags".

Thanks for your help!

I had forgotten about the Weatherby series! My brother has a LH .300 Weatherby Mag, but the California styling kind of puts me off. Maybe if the action was dropped into a classic style oil-rubbed stock it would look better to me. I would prefer a controlled feed action, but a push feed style would work if the price is too high for the former. Thanks for the input!

I have the Vanguard Sporter below, in semi-gloss walnut. I find that the Weatherby comb design really works well for me: great cheek weld, no smack from the recoil. Still looks more or less like a normal walnut/blue rifle.

However, various stock makers do make different designs to fit the Mark V.

The upside of the Mark V action design is the short bolt throw. I guess the price you pay is that it's push feed, if you don't care for that. I'm not sure that you're always getting what you pay for with CRF, depending on whose CRF design it is.

HS Precision

Pick a model....in any SAAMI caliber.

Ohh, all of them are available in left hand also.

BTW, did you see the accuracy guarantee? Did you also see that they use their own actions and barrels and they're made in the USA?

CZ's been threatening to bring out a LH action Safari Magnum for some time now, but so far no joy.

Perhaps they need to be asked politely?

Remington but they ain't cheap. About $2500 for Left hand H&H action length rifles.
Brownells sell's some Remington actions not exactly sure what all.

A Rem 700 chambered in one of the RUMs already has the magbox and bolt face for a full length H&H case, and should just need a barrel change and maybe some feed tweaking.

Should be able to pick one up for $700 or thereabouts new. Less if you can find a typical used one - with a box of 15-19 shells included.

Browning make a 375 H&H in a Lefty. At least in the A-bolt which I hear is being discontuned.
