Hey guys,
I am in Georgia currently visiting relatives, and just went to a civil war museum. I saw a Lemat revolver in a case, and I instantly decided that I wanted one.

I searched for reproductions, but haven't found much. Is there anything out there?

The LeMat is a black powder gun. If you get a mod to move this thread to the BP forum and perhaps do a seach on the term "lemat" in that forum you'll turn up a bunch of info from owners that have posted there rather than here.

www.dixiegunworks.com has LeMats as well. I totally understand your desire to own one. I keep trying to save up for one.

BTW, which museum did you visit? Stone Mountain? I live in GA and that's the closest one I can think of that might have one. Though there's always the one in the state capital.

We were in Kennesaw. I forget the name, but it had the train The General, which was the only train stolen during the war I guess.

They're very proud about it too :)

Thanks for all the info guys, I'll check those out.

Also the men who stole that engine from right in front of a Confederate encampment and ran it north attempting to destroy bridges as they went were the very first recipients of the Medal of Honor.

I've been to that museum myself and have donated numerous books to their library. Here's a link to tThe Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History. Formerly the Glover Machine Works, it built and hosts The General. Link
