For those of you who don't make it over to the "Voy" forum, this is what I posted there....too good a day not to share with everbody!!
Nothin' like toten' 10 lbs of steel to the rock quarry!! What a hoot, the Walker shot straight as an arrow, but because of the heavy trigger, I couldn't seem to find the bullseye. Everything within a chest cavity sized space (25yds), so that'll do till I do an action job (tomorrow)! It's an Uberti kit gun I bought off GB that I finished and antiqued. At 25yds, its about 4" high w/ 40g fff Goex, dead on at 50yds....only hit 2 out of four (50yds), (jerk, flinch.... tomorrow that will be corrected for sure when the action is smooth as glass!!), but scared the clanger the other two times LOL! Tried 2 shots at can's at 100 yds, and was real close, but no cigars. I'll be working on the "V" on the hammer also tomorrow, I already added height to the blade sight.
Now, the Lemat....my "Gang-Banger", sh-t, nine round's of 44 and a 20g shotgun blast...what else can I call it?! A couple of mechanical problems but shoot's as smooth as butter in the sun on a 90 degree day!! Thanks Krash, again GOOD TRADE!! I didn't have any 20 guage gear, so I didn't get to use the shot gun barrel, but did pop some caps with it and it wasn't consistant on going off everytime, think I'll try MCB's advice and lightly sand the top of the caps. The sights are crude, but it was exteremly accurate at 15yds, more point and shoot than using the sights totally. On both guns, I used a 454rb and a lubed wad. Both took #10 caps and in the Lemat I used 30g fff Goex. The mechanical problem's on the Lemat were that the loading lever would pop loose occasionally but the most irritating, was that the locking lever under the bbl that keeps it in battery with the cylinder popped loose every couple of rounds, I think I fixed that with a punch and hammer on the inside of the lever slot...we'll see. No pic's, hope my description was colorfull enough to make you drool !!! Only 80 degrees today...COME-ON FALL !
