Been wondering for years about these rifles, like the way they feel, but have not had the time to learn about them very much, saw one in a pawn shop for around 499 i think it was a cetme, then there are metric vs god knows what else,How do they stack up against the 308 ar types ? Armalite, cant think of the others. Thanks

CETME $399.00
20 rd mags $3.00 ea

FN FAL $389 to $1200
20 rd mags $5.00 delivered.
A really good FAL can be had for $500 to $600.

I purchased a Century L1A1 last year. After about 15 shots it won't eject the spent case. Finally found out that the gas tube had loosened and was letting gas escape. It looked like the threads were worn.

I sent it back to Century and they repair it. It now doesn't miss a beat. Earlier this week I put a couple hundred rounds through it no jams and accuracy was very good. 200 yards off hand It shoots in a paper plate.

By the way who's got the best going for Brit. 7.62 NATO rounds?

Thanks,

Turk

PS I almost like the L1A1 as much as my SP1

Ive got a G-3 from J&G.

So far, so good.

I've fired right at 600 rounds with it and had one failure to feed. Other than that, its been great.

Had to tinker with the rear sight a bit, it was shooting low at 100 yards. I dialed it up to the 2 hundred yard mark and it was right on. Me and a friend of mine shot it at a steel gong at 400 yards, once we figured out the hold on it we could whack it every time.

My only gripe is that it does not have a provision for a rear sling attachment, due to the US made stock. Im thinking of getting a G-3 stock with the built in sling pin in it.

I have a Century L1A1 impersonator built on an Imbel reciever that is a total sweetheart. Shoots great and runs 100%. A buddy has an STG impersonator on a Hesse reciever from CAI that is dead sexy, but it will not function more than 3 rounds in a row. He won't let me fix it so oh well.

Here is a pic of mine dressed in original British wood. http://www.thehighroad.org./attachment.php?s=&postid=82065
