I bought most of them used (or inherited them). The only ones I bought new were the S&W 625 mountain gun, the Ruger sp101, and the Taurus PT1911.

A lot of beautiful guns in this thread. My own personal shiny gun is a Ruger New Vaquero with birdshead grip in 45acp in high polish stainless steel.

Notwithstanding some of the beautiful pistols and revolvers posted in this thread, I'm not sure I like shiny on my 1858 Sheriff's Model:

SP101 with cocobolo Hogue monogrip, and Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield Ben Hogan knife.

This was taken two days after the Northfield arrived back in April. It has since been used for a lot of food slicing, and the 1095 steel is now a long way from shiny.

Sweet! Nice just knowing that fine looking 686 is right here in NC.

Thanks. I don't know the full history of this 1997 revolver, but it has spent at least the last eight years here in the Tar Heel state. I bought it from a shop in Raleigh in 2004, sold it to a friend in Charlotte three months later (to pay some unexpected medical expenses), and bought it back from him in May 2011.

Now THAT'S a good friend!
