I was a big fan of Greco knives from the 80s thru the early 2000s . Here is the "prettiest" ones he made for me. The others were pretty plain jane but ALL have very nice, if somewhat coarse grinds, are very sharp and hold an edge very well . They are expremely tough knives and I considered them the best bang for the buck in a handmade knife. This set was about $250 30 years ago . I never really used it , it came with great sheaths , always black pretty much , but tough good stitching .

I'd be afraid to mess up those stag handles! I'd hate to have to find someone that could do as good a job or better.

The Whisper top "fighter" and the MST survival below it l were his most popular blades tho. They were $100 knives with sheaths and pretty indestructable.

he also made some nice big Bowies and had a passion for "Scagel " design knives which I don't personally care for that handle treatment.

I went nuts at one Blade, and traded a 10mm to John for several of his knives.

I'm also really bad about giving knives away, so I just have one Greco left. One of the last times I talked to John, he was devoting himself heavily to Scagels. Not my bag, baby...
