I was at the range today, and the guy next to me was shooting a brand new AR in .458 SOCOM. Neat rifle, neat round, and a neat guy, too.
Mounted on said AR was a Simmons scope. I could see putting a cheapo scope on a cheapo .22 plinker, but a scope like that on something with the recoil of a .458? After talking to the guy, it seems like he comes to the range weekly about the same time I do. He shoots maybe a dozen rounds out of his .458, then switches to .22 or something else.
So lets see what everyone thinks - how many weeks before he mentions that his rifle knocked his scope apart?
