I don't know much about them. Here are the questions I have

1. what makes a barrel match
2. Glocks and HK's have some different type of rifling....why
3. What is hammer forged...and is it the best type of construction.
4. Are aftermarket barrels better...if so why?

1. In the gunzines, largely the advertising copywriter's imagination.
In real serious precision shooting, it means a decent quality barrel very well fitted to the gun.

2. THEIR advertising copywriters say it's because they last longer, clean easier, and give higher velocity.
I think it is because they are cheaper to make, the tooling for a hammer forge lasts longer with no sharp corners to form. See below.

3. A hammer forged barrel is made by feeding a drilled blank with a mandrel shaped to the rifling and chamber in the hole, into a machine that hammers the blank against the mandrel with great force and speed. The equipment is expensive, but it is FAST, which cuts costs in the end.

4. An aftermarket barrel is only as good as its installation.

The above relating to pistol barrels. For a rifle, you really can buy better than what comes on the gun... for about ten times what the factory tube costs.
